Funded by:

Heinrich Boll Stiftung

Starting Date:

April 2012

Ending Date:

October  2012

This project targets the Tourism sector stakeholders, employees of the hotel, and local and international tourists in Bethlehem Governorate. The project aims to increase awareness toward incorporating green water practices in the Palestinian hotel services. This will provide an opportunity to protect the scarce natural resource and reduce the negative impact hotels have on the environment, and hence, contribute to the protection of the Palestinian environment. The project will come out with a study that reveals the status of water usage in Palestinian hotels and develop substantiated recommendations, inform public and decision makers on issues that pertain to sustainable water usage in the Palestinian tourism industry, and enhance awareness and capacity among stakeholders in the Palestinian hotel sector to support green water practices in the hotels.
