The Applied Research Institute - Jerusalem (ARIJ) deplores and condemns the death threats against Hagit Ofran, the Settlement Watch Director project of the Israeli Peace Now movement. ARIJ considers that such threats are against international human right norms, inter alia, the inherent right to life and freedom of expression as codified in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. ARIJ recalls that Israel is under the legal duty to act by investigating, arresting and prosecuting leaders, instigators and those who are aiding or abetting or attempting the commission of threats as such.
