The project targets Olive oil cooperatives, producer groups of individual farmers and women’s enterprises; Palestinian Olive Oil Council and membership) regional federations; farmers’ representative organisations; national agronomists; olive press staff; and Palestinian private companies. The project aims to provide small and medium scale farmers from vulnerable and poor households in the West Bank with fair and equitable access to commercial markets for within a conducive institutional and policy environment, resulting in increased food and income security and greater resilience to, and ability to respond to, shocks and disasters. The project will promote a policy, regulatory and business environment that contributes to pro-poor olive and olive oil value chain development in addition to enhancing the income security of 10,875 small-scale farmers, especially women, in areas of greatest food insecurity in the West Bank, is enhanced through the improved functioning of the olive and olive oil value chain.
