The paper discusses global trends and issues of agriculture including: the Agreement on Agriculture (AoA) in the Uruguay Round, and its implications. It then presents a background on Arab agriculutral production and trade pattern including: Arab world overview for agricultural performance, constraints facing Arab agriculture, water crisis in the Arab world, land resources, agricultural production, marketing,  institutional and human resource development. It also discusses future sustainable agricultural strategies such as: national resource development, production, scientific research, marketing and trade.
