Climatic Zoning for Energy Efficient Buildings in the Palestinian Territories (the West Bank and Gaza)

The paper was presented to the United Nations Development Programme / Programme of Assistance to the Palestinian People (UNDP / PAPP). It gives an introduction about the climate of the Palestinian Territories, and climate classification for building energy codes. It then presents some of the activities that have been programmed and executed, which include: the generation of climate images, the collection and processing of data sample groups, and the generation of the climate model and image. In addition, the paper presents the 5 climatic zones in the Palestinian Territory, for example: hot dry summer – warm winter, warm sub-humid summer, cold winter. The paper also identifies and analyzes the Palestinian meteorological data, and the Palestinian built-up areas according to the climatic zoning.
