Natural Resources Management in the West Bank: Potentiality of Water and Land Allocation for Irrigation

The paper gives an introduction about the agricultural sector in Palestine and the use of irrigation. It presents the Palestinian System for Environmental Resource Management model (PSERM) and the optimal solutions for this model that depend on profit maximization and cost minimization. In addition, the paper explains the current status of irrigated agriculture in the West Bank, and the potential for land and water allocation in the irrigated agricultural sector, presenting 2 cases provided with assumed constraints, and result of estimated optimization.
