24/8/2014 ضمن نشاطات مشروع تعزيز التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية المستدامة من خلال تطبيقات تكنولوجية مبتكرة من اجل السياحة التراثية المتوسطية الطبيعية (HELAND)، قام فريق عمل المشروع من معهد أريج بزيارة الطواحين المائية التاريخية في قرية وادي الباذان المستهدفة في المشروع، وذلك لأهميتها في عكس تراث وتاريخ المنطقة، وكذلك دورها كمركز جذب للسياح في القرية.
قبل البدء بالزيارة الميدانية التقى فريق عمل المشروع في المجلس القروي لوادي الباذان مع احد سكان القرية المطلع على تاريخها، والذي قام بالتحدث عن تاريخ الطواحين وارتباطها بعادات وتقاليد وتراث اهل القرية، ثم توجه فريق العمل بصحبة ممثلة عن المجلس القروي لوادي الباذان لزيارة الطواحين، وذلك بهدف اعداد خرائط تساعد على التعرف على تاريخ المنطقة وأهم المواقع التاريخية فيها.
ARIJ Heland team conduct a field visit to the ancient watermills in Wadi Al Badhan
24th August 2014: A field visit to Al Badhan area was undertaken by ARIJ team in order to visit the ancient watermills in the area and to identify them using the Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. There is need to focus on the importance of the ancient watermills to become an attractive sites for both local and international tourists.
Before conducting the field visit, ARIJ team met one of the elderly residents holding the village memory, who talked about the history of the watermills in the village. Together with member of Al Badhan village council, ARIJ HELAND team visited the main ancient watermills in the area, and identified them using the GPS technology in order to develop a map of the main historical and touristic locations in the village, which will provide the tourists with general information about the history of Al Badhan. It is worth mentioning here that Al Badhan village has several sites of archaeological interests including 12 ancient watermills, and all of these watermills are in need of restoration in order to qualify them as tourist locations.
