The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has been supporting Applied Research Institute-Jerusalem (ARIJ) for several years promoting development projects in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. SDC provides a core funding contribution to ARIJ. In general, ARIJ projects contribute towards the achievement of the institute’s goals and strategies, by carrying out its projects and realizing its future plans and research projects on the national, regional and international levels. Thus, ARIJ core fund is mainly essential for securing the sustainability of the institute; directing ARIJ activities towards research and development rather than proposals formulation and fund raising; in addition to empowering the various local and national authorities by the provision of information, maps, land use data, policy recommendations, as well as training, knowledge, and decision support systems.
