December 2017 “Certification and improving professionalism of producer-consumer cooperatives’ group, Palestine”

The main objective of this project is to support and strengthen the cooperatives by providing them with the proper certification that will help increase their professionalism in the market.  This will be achieved through a) updating FSSC22000 (Food Security System Certification) and Fairtrade certificates that New Farm Company has already obtained and obtaining Fairtrade certificates for 3 coops; b) Certification in the Palestinian Standarization Institution (PSI); c) applying for eco certificates (Bio UE) for 1-2 products (olive oil and/or zatar) and for food processing unit (NFC and/or processing coop). In total, the project will target 10 coops and 3 sub coops in the West Bank and will directly impact the lives of over 700 cooperative workers and members.
