The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) has been supporting Applied Research Institute-Jerusalem (ARIJ) for several years promoting development projects in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. This year, SDC provides a core funding contribution towards the realization of the activities of ARIJ. In general, ARIJ projects contribute towards the achievement of the institute’s goals and strategies, by carrying out its projects and realizing its future plans and research projects on the national, regional and international levels. Thus, SDC earmark fund is mainly to carry out ARIJ’s research activities and services related to the monitoring of the effects of Israeli occupation practices and establish a cooperation network with other UN organizations namely OCHA, UNRWA, UNRoD and NAD for Palestinian geopolitical and socio-economics data collecting and exchanging. It will allow the public at large, governmental institutions, decision makers and international bodies the access to knowledge and information about environment, natural resources management, geopolitical status and sustainability relevant for the defense of Palestinians’ rights in the context of the Israeli occupation.
