This project represents an ongoing collaboration between the World Food Program (WFP) and ARIJ, which was initially established in 2019 in direct partnership with the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD).
The current phase of the project, the fifth in its stages, has been developed based on the achievements and successes of the previous phases. The project addresses the escalating challenges caused by the political crisis in the West Bank. Unemployment, poverty, and limited access to essential resources like land, water, and affordable food have severely impacted vulnerable groups, particularly women and youth. This amendment extends the project timeline and adds new resilience initiatives, including plant-based climate-resilient agriculture, targeting 240 new beneficiaries and 90 farmers for collective farming, as well as 3 olive oil cooperatives. Additional support includes training sessions, asset provisions, and assistance to agricultural and food processing cooperatives. The amendment also supports special care institutions with resources and training.
