لقد قام معهد الابحاث التطبيقية القدس ( اريج) وبالشراكة مع المركز البولندي للمساعدات الدولية وبتمويل من وزارة الخارجية البولندية بإتمام المرحلة الاولى من مشروع اقامة وحدات الزراعة المائية من اجل تعزيز الامن الغذائي، بهدف انتاج غذاء طبيعي وصحي للعائلات والفئات المهمشة. حيث تم التنفيذ بالتعاون المباشر مع جمعيات تعاونية وخيرية تسعى لدعم الفئات ذات الحاجات الخاصة وكبار السن والعائلات محدودة الدخل في كل بيت دقو من محافظة القدس وبيت صوريف من محافظة الخليل وبيت ساحور من محافظة بيت لحم. حيث تم تركيب 75 وحدة (لمصلحة 75 أسرة بشكل جماعي أو فردي) وبتصميمين مختلفين من انظمة الزراعة المائية (نظام الانابيب ونظام الاحواض)، يتمثل في 35 وحدة من نظام الانابيب بمساحة 7 م² لكل وحدة و 40 وحدة من نظام الاحواض وبمساحة 4م² لكل وحدة. ويهدف المشروع وخلال هذا النشاط إلى أن تقوم هذه الوحدات بتوفير الغذاء للمستفيدين وتسويق الفائض لتحقيق دخل يعزز دخل تلك الاسر ويساعد الجمعيات الخيرية للاستمرار برسالتها الانسانية.
Through the Polish Aid funding, the Applied Research Institute – Jerusalem (ARIJ) in partnership with the Polish Center for international Aid have accomplished the first phase of the project that aims at adopting green hydroponic and wicking beds production to increase food security, income generation and competitiveness of agricultural cooperatives sector in Palestine. 75 agricultural units established, of which 35 hydroponic units (pipes) and 40 wicking bed units (beds) to the benefit of 75 marginalized and needy families and marginalized groups. The project is being implemented in direct cooperation with charitable and cooperative associations in Beit Duque- Jerusalem Governorate, Beit Sahour- Bethlehem Governorate and Sourif- Hebron Governorate. These cooperatives are seeking to support marginalized groups including the people of special needs, elderly and families with limited-income. The established units will assist these people to produce and eat natural and healthy food. The surplus produce will be marketed to improve the income of these families and assist these cooperatives to continue their social and humanitarian mission.
