The main objectives of the baseline study are (1) to obtain an overview of the current state of Higher Education and Research systems and structures in Palestine and (2) to survey the social sciences and humanities research infrastructure and the characteristics and qualifications of social sciences and humanities researchers in Palestine.
The aim of the project is to map the Higher Education institutions and to compile a list of their visions, policies, strategies, governance, reform, as well as their source of funding and their capacity for PhD training.
These goals will be accomplished by conducting a critical review of the relevant disciplinary and inter-disciplinary literature on HE/R in and on Palestine today, and refer to broader regional and global literature as needed.
