The “Innovative Women and Youth Entrepreneurship Hub for Green Investment and Circular Economy in Palestine” addresses economic instability and environmental degradation in the West Bank. The project focuses on:
- Capacity Building: Training 60 youth entrepreneurs and women cooperatives in sustainable business practices, with 20 selected further support to lead green ventures.
- Strategic Partnerships: Establishing collaborations with private sector businesses, academic institutions, and business incubators to foster knowledge exchange and innovation.
- Economic Empowerment: Providing business support, broadening market access, and incorporating sustainable practices such as green agricultural economy and renewable energy and waste reduction.
- Community Engagement: Launching awareness campaigns on green practices and circular economy principles, engaging community members in sustainability initiatives.
Objective of the Position:
ARIJ is seeking to hire a project coordinator that will oversee the implementation of project activities, ensuring alignment with the project’s goals and objectives. The coordinator will manage day-to-day operations, directly supervised by the project leader, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure the timely delivery of project outputs.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Management:
- Oversee planning, execution, and monitoring of project activities.
- Ensure project activities are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop detailed work plans and manage project schedules under the supervision of the project leader.
2. Stakeholder Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact between ARIJ, local partners, and other stakeholders.
- Organize and facilitate meetings with stakeholders, including the Project Expert Committee (PEC).
- Ensure effective communication and coordination among all project participants.
3. Beneficiary Engagement:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with project beneficiaries (youth entrepreneurs, women cooperatives, and community members).
- Ensure beneficiaries are actively involved at all stages of project implementation, from planning to execution and evaluation.
- Conduct regular field visits and meetings to engage with beneficiaries, gather feedback, and address any concerns or issues.
- Facilitate capacity-building sessions for beneficiaries, ensuring they receive the necessary training and support.
- Monitor the progress of beneficiaries, providing guidance and support to ensure their successful participation and contribution to the project.
4. Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the project leader, based on Spanish Cooperation standards and signed agreement conditions.
- Document all project activities, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
- Develop and maintain a project database.
5. Project Staff Supervision:
- Coordinate with project staff and provide necessary support and guidance.
- Conduct regular meetings with project staff to monitor project activities and collect data.
- Ensure the accuracy and quality of conducted activities and achievements based on the project logical framework and performance.
6. Financial Management:
- Oversee project budgets and financial resources with project leader and the financial department at ARIJ.
- Ensure proper procurement procedures, financial documentation, and reporting.
- Coordinate with the finance and procurement departments to manage project funds.
Required Qualifications:
Educational Background:
- A Master’s degree in business development and related fields.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project coordination and business development and entrepreneurship.
- Experience working with national and/or international organizations and managing donor-funded projects.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Fluency in English and Arabic (both written and spoken).
- Valid Driving license.
Technical Knowledge:
- Understanding of circular economy principles and green practices.
- Knowledge of agricultural practices and sustainable development.
- Familiarity with the socio-economic context of West Bank.
- Good knowledge about women cooperatives.
- Good knowledge about mechanisms of supporting and sustaining start-ups, SMEs, youth, and women business and entrepreneurship development.
