Contracting party: World Food Program (WFP)
Funded By: World Food Program (WFP)
Starting Date: June 2023
Ending Date: December 2024

This project represents an ongoing collaboration between the World Food Program (WFP) and ARIJ, which was initially established in 2019 in direct partnership with the Ministry of Social Development (MoSD).

The current phase of the project, the fourth in its stages, has been developed based on the achievements and successes of the previous phases. Its primary objective is to enhance self-sufficiency in food production and foster income-generating activities through environmentally sustainable, innovative, and smart practices. Spanning 19 months during the years 2023 and 2024, the project targets 220 economically disadvantaged families, 18 cooperatives, and 6 special care institutions in the West Bank, aiming to build their resilience to climate change and promote community development. Additionally, the project aims to scale up the productivity and income generation capabilities of 50 households previously involved, enabling them to sell surplus produce.

A key focus of the project is to enhance the knowledge and skills of project beneficiaries, including households and cooperatives, in the management and sustainability of the provided agro-production systems and green interventions. By doing so, the project aims to empower participants to produce safe food and improve their income along the value chain.
